the two betty’s

Our company, The Two Betty’s, LLC was formed in October of 2008. The name was chosen to honor the lives of our grandmothers, Betty Campion (Dan’s grandmother) and Bettie McCann (Brendan’s grandmother). The two lived next door to each other for years in Albany and raised 14 children combined. Their support and guidance during our lives is something that shaped us into the people we are today.

The Two Betty’s owns and operates A Perfect Blend Espresso Bar & Café as well as Next Door. A Perfect Blend has been around since 2003, but was sold to us in 2008. Although the coffeehouse aspect of A Perfect Blend remained after the sale, many things changed – we do all of our baking in house, we gave the shop some new character and energy and have worked within the community and with local suppliers since we took over.

Next Door, aptly named as our newest venture is located in the same building as Perfect Blend, opened in March of 2010. We took a strong niche of making cakes and cupcakes, which we started on a small scale at Perfect Blend, and expanded it into another business. Next Door now offers cakes for all occasions in any size, shape, flavor or color as well as a variety of cupcakes which we sell daily in our storefront.


Daniel Casey

I was born and raised in Albany, NY and attended Albany High School. I studied baking and pastries as part of the school’s vocational program and enjoyed great success in this program and local competitions. These experiences led me to a national competition as the representative for New York State where I placed second out of fifty competitors representing their respective states.

A continued passion for baking guided me to one of the best culinary schools in America – Johnson and Wales University in Providence, RI, where I graduated with a degree in Baking and Pastry Technology. After graduating from Johnson and Wales, I was employed as a pastry chef for several bakeries and restaurants, including Leo’s Bakery, The Vanilla Bean and The Inn at Saratoga.

Brendan M. McCann

I was born and raised in Albany, NY and have lived locally my entire life. At a young age, I learned the basics of cooking and baking from my mother and grandmother, who are both Italian immigrants and share some excellent recipes and cooking techniques. I attended Christian Brothers Academy and then Siena College. I graduated from Siena in 2004 with a degree in Marketing and Management.

Having several jobs throughout high school and college in the food industry combined with some great family recipes, a solid education focused in small business and the support of my family and friends I decided to open my own business with Dan.
